Automation System Renews Wastewater Treatment Plant in Finland
The original automation system from 1992 of the central wastewater treatment plant of Lapuan Jätevesi Oy was brought up to date in 2008. The automation renewal project included the controllers, the SCADA software and the communication network where 9 RadioLinx Industrial Ethernet radios are involved for safe and reliable transfer of process and control data.

Modbus TCP/IP to PROFIBUS DPV1 Master SE Gateway
The new Modbus TCP/IP to PROFIBUS DPV1 Master SE Gateway (5204SE-MNET-PDPMV1) is equipped with new importable DFB (derived function block) files designed to simplify and expedite your integration process with a Schneider Electric M340 processor. Once the PROFIBUS network is configured, the gateway automatically generates the DFB logic required for the M340 Unity Pro processor to handle all the cyclic and acyclic I/O communication. For the user, this translates into faster deployment, greater ease-of-use, less engineering time and less room for errors in creating ladder logic. The module supports pass-thru PROFIBUS acyclic messaging directly to the PROFIBUS Master or Slave devices. |
RadioLinx® Intelligent Cellular
Intelligent cellular solutions combine robust industrial cellular technology, industrial protocol templates, and ALEOS persistent connection management. The rugged design of these devices supports industrial operating temperatures and Class I Div 2 hazardous location certification. The modules are suited for Industrial automation applications such as remote process, OEM equipment monitoring, M2M applications, and non-time-critical control for municipal water/wastewater, power transmission/generation/distribution, and oil/gas SCADA. Versions are available for both serial and Ethernet devices for CDMA and GSM based cellular networks. PROFIBUS DPV1 Master Module
The PROFIBUS DPV1 Master Communication Module (PTQ-PDPMV1) enables Schneider Electric Quantum processors to access field data from up to 125 PROFIBUS DP slaves. Field Device Tool (FDT) and Device Type Manager (DTM) standardize the interface between systems and field devices to simplify configuration and to assist in asset management. For applications that cannot afford downtime, Hot Standby allows the PROFIBUS network to be controlled by two Quantum/Unity processors so that should the primary power source fail, the secondary module will switch into primary mode in less than 300 milliseconds. The module supports 1536 bytes of acyclic I/O data transfer.
