ProSoft Gives NASA a Boost

After each countdown to ignition, a shuttle is propelled into space by trademark twin flames streaming from Solid Rocket Boosters (SRB). ProSoft i-View : SCADA Control from your Mobile

The new ProSoft i-View mobile app enables engineers to monitor control variables in real-time and make adjustments on the fly from an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch device. ProSoft i-View uses a secure wireless connection such as ProSoft Technology's 802.11 industrial wireless or cellular solutions, to display control data to the mobile device. Displays are color coded based on the value, and offer real-time alarming support including local notifications.

New Faceplates for Rockwell Automation Control Architectures

New faceplates for ProSoft Technology communication modules are now available for free download on the ProSoft Technology website, or from the Rockwell sample code website. The faceplates help operators and engineers minimize downtime while troubleshooting by providing module configuration data and critical run-time diagnostics to FactoryTalk View ME applications. The first modules with faceplates are:

Automation Fair Wrap-up

If you missed the 2010 Rockwell Automation Fair in Orlando, Florida, you missed a buzzing show floor and several exciting new surprises from ProSoft Technology. This year, hands-on labs hosted in-booth gave attendees an opportunity to configure wireless solutions and communication modules with ControlLogix or CompactLogix architectures. Live demonstrations were available for the new ProSoft i-View mobile application for SCADA monitoring and control. For substation automation projects, Ken Roslan gave a presentation about the potential of IEC 61850 titled, Reducing deployment time for substation IED Integration and control.

PROFIBUS DP-V1 Master Module for CompactLogix: New CIPconnect support

The PROFIBUS DP-V1 Master Communication Module for CompactLogix platforms (MVI69-PDPMV1) now supports CIPconnect technology. With CIPconnect, users are now able to access the module by utilizing the Ethernet port of a CompactLogix processor, such as the L32E or L35E. This feature utilizes the backplane bridging capabilities of the CompactLogix system to enable remote configuration and diagnostics of the module via EtherNet/IP. CIPconnect also enables asset management software that supports FDT/DTM to connect to PROFIBUS DP devices through the same Ethernet connection.
