ProSoft Technology's EtherNet/IP to ASCII Generic Serial Communication Gateway offers connectivity for ASCII devices to EtherNet/IP networks

ProSoft Technology has added the flexibility of a gateway for users connecting ASCII devices to their EtherNet/IP network with its 5202-DFNT-ASCII (4) module.This stand-alone aluminum-cased DIN-rail mounted protocol gateway features one Ethernet port and up to four configurable serial ports, each capable of supporting its own individual ASCII serial network.This enables the ASCII driver to interface with multiple devices including barcode readers, scanners, scales, printers, and terminals.

The added flexibility of a gateway allows this ProLinx module to be implemented easily and cost-effectively while providing communication solutions for a wide range of automation needs.

• User configurable as both Client and Server

• The EtherNet/IP driver supports the Explicit Messaging implementation of the protocol.

• User configurable polling of commands

• Support for 100 commands, each configurable for command, IP address, register to/from addressing and word/bit count.
