Features and Benefits

Included in this family are the Rockwell Automation Variable Speed Drives (1305 Micro, 1336 Plus, Vector, Force, etc.), the SMC Dialogue Plus and the SMP3. The following functionality is available in the 1550-MBS unit: Multi-drop on an RS-485 link with other Modbus compatible devices Interface via R-232 in a point-to-point mode Be applied in existing or retrofit applications where other manufacturer's devices are in use.

Simple to Use
The 1550-MBS module is simple to use, requiring only the setting of several dip-switch options. The parameters from the Rockwell Automation devices are pre-mapped to simplify reading and writing using standard Modbus commands.

Accessible Parameters
The 1550-MBS has read/write access to the entire parameter table in a SCANport device. All parameters can be accessed using Function Codes 3, 6 and 16. In addition high speed parameter updating can be configured through Datalinks.

Installation, Set Up and Operation

The ProSoft 1550-MBS is a SCANport gateway allowing all Rockwell Automation SCANport compatible devices to interface to a Modbus host. The product's functional characteristics are enabled and controlled with the setting of several dip switches. Each product is shipped with a User Manual detailing its installation and operation.
