PCB

Use a single software tool to configure and test all ProLinx modules, as well as a growing selection of ProSoft inRAx and ProTalk modules. ProSoft Configuration Builder simplifies the task of managing the configuration files that control how your ProSoft module operates. ProSoft Configuration Builder is designed for computers running the following versions of Microsoft Windows:

Windows 7 Professional (32-bit and 64-bit versions), 8 GB RAM Intel® Core™ i5 650 (3.20 GHz)
Windows XP Professional Ver.2002 Service Pack 2, 512 MB RAM Pentium 4 (2.66 Gz)
Windows 2000 Ver.5.00.2195 Service Pack 2 512 MB RAM Pentium III (550 MHz)

NOTE: To use PCB under the Windows 7 OS, you must be sure to install PCB using the "Run as Administrator" option. To find this option, right-click on the Setup.exe installer program icon. In the context menu, you will see the "Run as Administrator" option. Left-click to use this install option. Be aware, you must install using this option even if you are already logged in as an Administrator on your network or personal computer (PC). Using the "Run as Administrator" option will allow the PCB installer to create folders and files on your PC with proper permissions and security. If you do not use the "Run as Administrator" option, PCB may appear to install correctly; but you will receive numerous, repeating file access errors whenever PCB is running, especially when changing configuration screens. If this happens, to eliminate the errors, you will have to completely uninstall PCB and then re-install using the "Run as Administrator" option.

ProSoft Configuration Builder also provides the following features:

• Graphical User Interface replaces the Hyperterminal download and monitor method.
• Provides error reduction in setting up configuration files.
• Extensive online help for module-specific configuration options.

Configuration and Debug Functionality

The module's Configuration/Debug (Serial or Ethernet) port is used to connect a PC to the module for configuration, status, online monitoring, and troubleshooting (Serial and Ethernet cables are included with hardware shipment). After a module's profile is created on a PC, a configuration file is downloaded and stored on the module.

When operational, the Debug port allows access to detailed protocol and module status data and provides a view of the communications data bytes with the built-in data analyzer for most protocols.

Integrated Technical Email Support

The software provides integrated email technical support. This service will package all required support information to help expedite the solution.

ProSoft Configuration Builder manages configuration files for your ProSoft ProLinx, inRAx and ProTalk modules in a graphical, tree-structured layout, with extensive online help to define configuration parameters and database configuration. Create plant-wide configurations of all ProSoft Technology products. Manage configuration of complex protocols and networks, including PROFIBUS DP.

PROFIBUS Master Configuration Utility

The graphical workbench of ProSoft Configuration Builder for PROFIBUS Master Configuration allows the rapid compilation of configurations based on slave GS*-files. Read/Write of slave I/O data can be monitored and modified.

Complete plant-wide configuration for ProSoft PDPMV1 modules. Set and monitor all ProSoft products from a single configuration utility.

An enhanced diagnostic utility shows the detailed state of every configured slave in a graphical manner and clear text.
