ProSoft Technology Introduces Hydrocarbon Flow Computer for Schneider Electric's Quantum Processor

ProSoft Technology's new Flow Computer (PTQ-AFC) for Schneider Electric's Quantum platform allows integrated process control and flow computer capabilities in a single-slot, in-rack solution. This unique module offers unprecedented communication flexibility between the flow computer and Modbus devices, which is critical for pump stations and process plants. Integration of the PTQ Flow Computer into the Quantum rack is a cost-effective communication solution that ensures overall production efficiency and a seamless total solution for process control and flow computations.

The PTQ-AFC module supports 16 meter runs, greatly facilitating custody transfer of products between two parties and line balance for pipeline leak detection. The three built-in Modbus ports provide on-line meter configuration access, allowing the user complete access to the defined meter data table. One Modbus port can be configured as a Master providing a Modbus interface to gas chromatographs for gas analysis or any other Modbus Slave devices.

Other features include:

• Strict adherence to AGA 3, 7, 8 and API 2540 industry standards

• On-line, detailed check of active flow measurement calculations for a selected meter run

• Event Log reporting for all security sensitive configuration data (e.g. Orifice Diameter) are date and time stamped and mapped to the local Modbus memory

The AFC Manager is a user-friendly, Windows-based software which easily configures the PTQ-AFC module to meet individual needs. Operator data is displayed in user-selected engineering units and is designed to cope with exceptionally demanding regimes.
