ProSoft Technology Offers the Ultimate in Security for Wireless Applications

RadioLinx responds to growing concerns about wireless security by providing three layers of technology for the ultimate safeguarding of wireless networks and data: hardware, radio frequency and data encryption.

RadioLinx provides network architecture security by using a proprietary RF protocol and 158 unique hopping patterns to prevent unwarranted interception of RadioLinx data transmissions. Data is encrypted in the RadioLinx hardware using proven algorithms and 64 or 128-bit encryption keys. Encrypted data never reaches another device, eliminating the means most often used to crack the encryption key and decipher the data.

RadioLinx Serial, Ethernet and Ethernet with Serial Encapsulation models use Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) for maximum protection against jamming or unintentional interference common in industrial environments. Invented by the military, FHSS spreads the radio signal over a wide band of frequencies by transmitting for short bursts then pseudo-randomly "hopping" to another frequency. It is almost impossible to follow the same frequency of hops in a proprietary radio design.

FHSS systems sequentially hop over a frequency range in a predetermined pattern. If interference is present at a particular frequency, FHSS "hops around" the interference and transmits the data on the next frequency that is not affected by the interference.

ProSoft Technology's RadioLinx Frequency Hopping product line now includes three wireless solutions:

• RLX-FHE: Frequency Hopping Ethernet - 2.4 GHz

o Simultaneous support of all Ethernet 802.3 compliant protocols including: TCP/IP, EtherNet/IP, and Modbus TCP/IP

• RLX-FHES: Frequency Hopping Ethernet with Serial Server - 2.4 GHz

o Connect serial and Ethernet devices to one RadioLinx network. Encapsulate common serial protocols in TCP/IP Ethernet packets. Convert Modbus RTU to Modbus TCP/IP for PLC-to-PLC messaging

• RLX-FHS: Frequency Hopping Serial - 2.4 GHz

o Advanced support for leading serial protocols including Modbus, DF1, DNP 3.0, and ASCII with data rates to 115 kbps full duplex
