MTS Level Plus Interface Communications Module
3150-MTS
The 3150-MTS product allows the user to easily communicate with up to 64 MTS level plus gauges. The 3150-MTS (SLC) modules is a single slot solution for the A-B 1746 platforms (firmware solutions also available). These products allow MTS level plus digital gauges and level plus monitors to be interfaced directly to the Allen-Bradley environment.
Features
Simple to Use
All module setup and operating control is performed over the backplane through simple ladder logic and data table configuration. The only software necessary is a standard ladder-programming package.
Port Configuration
Configuring the two ports independently allows for optimum flexibility. Using both ports as RS-485 Masters to MTS gauges, or one port as a RS-485 Master to a set of MTS gauges and the other as a Modbus Slave connected via modem to a SCADA host is one example of this flexibility. Once configured through the processor data table the module will perform all protocol related functions on a stand-alone basis, returning level and temperature information to the processor.
Easy Hardware Installation
The connection between the 3150-MTS and the MTS gauges is a direct one and needs no RS-232 to RS-485 converter. In order to connect the 3150-MTS product to the MTS digital gauges, plug the module into the Allen-Bradley rack and connect the RS-485 line from the MTS gauges to the module's port.
Installation, Set Up and Operation
The ProSoft module installs in any slot in a local or a remote rack. The product's capabilities are enabled and controlled with simple ladder logic and data table initialization. The module operates in any one of the following configurations
