PROFIBUS DP-V1 Master Communication Module

The PROFIBUS DP-V1 Master module is a powerful communication interface for CompactLogix I/O compatible processors. The module incorporates proprietary backplane technology that enables powerful data exchange with CompactLogix I/O compatible processors.
The MVI69-PDPMV1 is now equipped with CIPconnect, a feature that enables remote configuraiton and diagnostics of the module via EtherNet/IP. CIPconnect techhnology utilizes the backplane bridging capabilities of the CompactLogix system to enable EtherNet/IP connectivity between a PC and the MVI69-PDPMV1 module using the Ethernet port of a CompactLogix processor, like the L32E or L35E. CIPconnect also enables asset management software that supports FDT/DTM to connect to PROFIBUS DP devices through the same Ethernet connection.
Features and Benefits
The module supports complete Master specifications according to IEC 61158. Acyclic parameter data can be transferred with Class 1 or Class 2 DP-V1 services, allowing processors to easily communicate with slave devices supporting PROFIBUS DP-V0 or DP-V1 protocol.
The module acts as an input/output module between the PROFIBUS network and the CompactLogix or MicroLogix processors. Data transfer from the processor is asynchronous with the I/O data transfer on the PROFIBUS network. Databases are user-defined and stored in the module to hold the data required by the protocol.
