The MVI56E-61850S Ethernet Communication Module allows Rockwell Automation® ControlLogix® PACs to emulate Intelligent Electronic Devices on an IEC 61850 Ethernet network to SCADA systems. Now your non-smart electrical substation devices, such as transformers and switchgear, can present their data as IEC 61850 IEDs to the SCADA system.

The module comes with an Add-On Instruction to be used with RSLogix™ 5000/Studio 5000™ for easier configuration and setup. Remote diagnostics of the unit can be viewed through controller tags in your ControlLogix® processor, reducing downtime.

Features and Benefits

  • The ControlLogix® PAC is able to emulate multiple Intelligent Electronic Devices on an IEC 61850 network.
  • Add-On Instruction provides logical definitions for I/O, module status and control data easing configuration and maintenance of the module.
  • ProSoft Discovery Service (PDS) software is used to initially set the module’s IP address, so you don’t have to change your PC to the default subnet of the module.
  • Module functions as an IEC 61850 Server, allowing it to interface with SCADA systems.
